We are seeking a passionate, committed, and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Brentwood, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys Key Stage 1 and wants to help pupils consolidate their learning while fostering a love of literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum subjects.

The Role
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the curriculum, tracking pupil progress and providing targeted interventions as needed. You will foster independence, resilience, and confidence in your pupils, ensuring they are well prepared for the transition to Year 3.
You will work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and colleagues across the school to maintain consistency and high standards. Communicating effectively with parents and carers will also be an important part of the role, supporting pupils’ learning both in school and at home.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum
* Track pupil progress and use assessment to inform planning
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners
* Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
* Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
* Collaborate with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers
* Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and whole-school initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
* Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects
* Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable
* Show a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
* Work effectively as part of a collaborative team
