Full Job Description:
Associate Director Building Surveyor (Bias)
Basic £45-65k
Car or car allowance
We're representing a respected and forward-thinking property consultancy that's looking to appoint an Associate Director with a strong building surveying background. This is a senior-level position that combines leadership, technical excellence, and client relationship management. If you're looking to take that next step into a more strategic role whilst still remaining hands-on with projects, this could be a perfect fit.
The successful candidate will lead a team of junior surveyors, ensuring high standards across inspections, compliance, and reporting. You'll be trusted with managing key client accounts, overseeing complex surveys, and delivering tailored, commercially sound advice. From condition and dilapidation reports to project delivery and defect analysis, you'll be right at the centre of the action.
You'll also play a key role in shaping the business whether that's mentoring your team, contributing to business development, or helping grow new service lines. Financial oversight, client satisfaction, and project profitability will all sit comfortably within your remit.
This role offers more than just a job title — it's a chance to cement your leadership skills, develop strategic influence, and be instrumental in the firm's ongoing growth. There are strong routes to further career progression, ongoing development opportunities, and the chance to work across varied and challenging projects.
What we're looking for:
You need significant experience as a Building Surveyor, ideally with chartered status (MRICS or similar), and a background in managing teams and client relationships. Commercial awareness, technical credibility, and a proactive mindset are essential.
What's in it for you:
A competitive package, a clear path to Director level, and the chance to join a high-performing team at a critical point in its growth. You'll also benefit from professional autonomy, meaningful leadership responsibilities, and support from a collaborative senior team.
