Delivering a range of property services, including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance services to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide including, Orbit: one of the largest housing providers in the midlands, east Anglia and the southeast.
We are now looking for an experienced Glazer / UPVC Specialist to join our rapidly expanding team to work within a busy repairs environment, undertaking high standard Glazing repairs and refurbishment activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.
About The Role
As a Glazier you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing windows to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of tenants. Skilled in installing and replacing glass in residential properties, often working on double-glazing units, safety glass, and energy-efficient fittings.
You will be knowledgeable about building regulations and health and safety requirements specific to social housing, as well as courteous and professional when engaging with residents, ensuring minimal disruption during repairs or installations.
Role Criteria
* FENSA approved installer
* Must be competent with all aspects of glazing and UPVC works including installing/replacing hinges, handles, restrictors, locks and sliding gear.
* Must have experience of and be able to undertake changing of UPVC trims, sills and renewing of double-glazed units.
* You must be able to measure glass and doors and confidently order materials with our suppliers. Must be familiar with composite doors.
* Proven previous experience working within social housing.
* Good Customer Service Skills
* Hold a Full UK Driving License
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
