Responsibilities
* Provision of technical product support to internal and external customers via phone and email.
* Management of all support requests that come into the technical department, ensuring all are responded to promptly, either directly or via other members of the technical department.
* Design and manufacture of tooling to produce new variants of existing products.
* Creation of drawings and technical literature to support manufacture and sale of our products.
* Share the knowledge you gain by providing training to colleagues and customers to enhance understanding across the business.
* Contribution to engineering change program to maintain efficient manufacture of existing product range.
* Contribute to product/process research, development and improvement projects.
* Adherence to company systems and procedures in delivery of all the above including proactively identifying, justifying and implementing improvements to them.
* Provision of technical support to sales teams and customers.
Qualifications
* Technical qualification (Degree, HND or similar) and/or substantial relevant work experience.
* Customer‑facing with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a professional telephone manner.
* Working in a manufacturing environment.
* Management of multiple simultaneous projects and tasks balancing competing priorities.
* Autodesk AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD package.
* Commercially aware and highly numerate.
* Technical authoring e.g. datasheets, installation / manufacturing instructions.
Desired Criteria
* Construction sites and trades, specifically industrial cladding/flat roofing and electrics.
* Building regulations.
* Vector graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer or similar.
* Materials science – metals, plastics and composites.
* Pultrusion, extrusion, thermoforming, metal and plastic fabrication, mouldings and castings, adhesives/tapes/sealants/mechanical fasteners, bracketry and hardware, electrical actuators and control systems.
* Development of departmental processes to ISO 9001 standards.
* Experience with industry safety and sustainability initiatives.
