Location: Newport, South Wales
Contract: Temporary, Part-Time (1-2 days per week, flexible on days)
Rate: £42 per hour (negotiable - potential for longer-term booking at lower rates)
The Role:
Eden Brown Synergy is working in partnership with Newport City Council to recruit an experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their Adult & Community Services team on a part-time basis.
This is a great opportunity for an AMHP looking for flexible work, with the chance to make a real difference in mental health services across South Wales.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake AMHP assessments under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007).
Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
Complete accurate documentation and reports in line with local authority and legislative requirements.
Provide expert advice and support to colleagues across Adult & Community Services.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Chartered Psychologist with AMHP status.
Current registration with Social Work England, NMC, HCPC, or equivalent.
Demonstrable experience working as an AMHP in local authority or NHS settings.
Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act and associated legislation.
