Henderson Technology are the proud creators of EDGEPoS, the multi award-winning global EPOS software system.
We provide our retailers with the most innovative features and solutions for their EPOS software.
The Purpose of the role
The Prep Technician, reporting to the Installation Manager at Henderson Technology, will prepare all Epos equipment for installations.
This role offers valuable IT/Retail IT experience, including cloning and configuring EDGEPoS equipment to customer specifications, and working with scales, credit card solutions, routers, and electronic label solutions.
Working as Prep Technician you will:
Duties and Responsibilities
* Configuration and installation of retail software.
* Configuration of EPoS hardware and peripherals.
* Testing and configuration of Credit Cards.
* Configuration of retail weighing scales.
* Configuration of electronic shelf Edge label equipment for installation.
* Ensuring all activities are in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 procedures.
System Preparation
* Ensure the systems supplied by the Henderson technology are prepared and tested effectively prior to their installation in a customer’s premises.
* Working with retailers and third-party suppliers (electricians, checkout manufacturers etc) to prepare sites for installation.
* Coordinate the schedule of Prep with all internal parties.
System Implementation
* Hardware and software configuration based on the information provided by the customer at the site meetings.
Ad-hoc Duties
* Any other duties as required to fulfil the role of a Prep Technician
Skills for Success
Joining us as Prep Technician the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
* Educated to A-level standard or equivalent
* Experience working with Windows Operating Systems.
* Experience of working with networks and Network Configuration (including IP4)
* Demonstrable experience of working towards tight deadlines.
* Full, current UK/EU driving license
The Attributes you’ll need include:
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Effective organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise work and escalate where necessary.
* Good attention to detail
It is Desirable if you have:
* Third Level Qualification in IT or relevant experience.
* Practical experience of store operations and procedures.
* Experience with EPoS systems.
* Experience of the EDGEPoS system

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday.
