Laboratory Safety Officer
Role Type - Hybrid: WFH 2-3 days a week
Location – Cambridge – will require travel between multiple sites.

Salary – £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on interview performance & experience)

We are currently offering the opportunity to implement laboratory H&S policies and monitor compliance within an innovative biotechnology company based in Cambridge.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
This role will require travel between multiple sites – only applicants with a valid driving licence and car access will be considered for this role.
The Role
As the Laboratory Safety Officer, you will be responsible for:
* Serving as the main point of contact within the organisation regarding H&S queries,
* Ensuring company-wide compliance with H&S policies and procedures,
* Performing risk assessments and investigations, ensuring that accidents and incidents are recorded accurately,
* Writing, reviewing, and updating documentation related to key H&S policies and procedures,
* Ensuring that staff members are trained in H&S practices,
* Preparing and reviewing COSHH assessments related to the use of reagents and chemicals,
* Contributing to H&S committee meetings to provide updates on policy adherence and H&S advice.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
* Expertise in H&S legislation – e.g. Health and Safety Work Act 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, COSHH regulations (essential).
* Prior experience working within a laboratory environment (essential).
* Holds an H&S qualification – e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH (essential).
* Prior experience working within a cleanroom environment would be a bonus (desirable).

* A valid driving licence and car access – this role requires travel between multiple sites (essential).
* Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridge (essential).
