Description
The Sustainability & Energy Optimisation Lead will play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Based in Leeds, this position requires a forward-thinking individual to develop and implement strategies for energy optimization while contributing to a sustainable future. This is a key role with the opportunity to make a significant impact on site operations.
Responsibilities include:
1. Development and implementation of a 5-year Sustainability and Energy Consumption Roadmap
2. Collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations teams to align on site targets and vision
3. Collecting data, building reports, and delivering business cases aligned with the Roadmap and site targets
4. Challenging and influencing behaviors
5. Staying updated on legislation and government-led initiatives
6. Sharing best practices with other SE&O specialists across the business and engaging with industry leaders, community, and other sites to introduce new knowledge, innovations, technologies, renewable sources, and promote the brand
7. Owning weekly and monthly reviews with internal and external stakeholders on waste, energy, site consumption, and project updates
8. Championing the site's 2030 and 2050 carbon reduction and net-zero targets
Profile
The successful candidate will possess:
* Proven experience leading and implementing sustainability and energy initiatives in manufacturing or industrial settings
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices
* Ability to work autonomously and prioritize effectively
* Clear vision-setting and strategic thinking skills
* Self-motivated with initiative-taking capabilities
* Demonstrable experience reducing energy consumption in manufacturing environments
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to inspire sustainable practices
* Strategic and analytical thinking abilities
