Personal Mentor
Here at Quays Housing, we are looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting clients who have experienced homelessness. If you enjoy helping others, want to create a safe place to for clients to live and help them gain the skills to live independently, we have a new and exciting opportunity. We are looking for a full-time Personal Mentor to work in our low support accommodations here at Quays Housing.
Job Summary
The personal mentor role will be based within two supported housing projects in Brighton and Hove. The role will be working with people who were previously rough sleeping. The post holder will support a case load of residents to become more independent and gain life skills to be able to move on to independent living in the future. You will work within a small and supportive team.
Experience
1. Experience of providing emotional and practical support to residents who have low support needs
2. Experience of supporting a caseload of clients
3. Experience of working with people who have experienced homelessness, struggle with substance and alcohol use and their mental health
4. Ability to provide creative, structured, person centred and co-produced support plans
5. Ability to build trust and understanding with residents
6. Ability to work with a strength-based approach to motivate and empower people
