The Marketing Director forms part of our visionary leadership team and is responsible for developing and executing the brand marketing strategies to elevate brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and achieve business growth. As a key member of the executive team, the Marketing Director oversees all aspects of marketing, including brand management, digital marketing, product positioning, and market research.
Brand Background:
Trusted on the water for 50 years, Gill did not start as a brand or a business, it started as a solution to find better more capable sailing clothing using the best fabrics possible.Combined with innovative design to increase performance and tested by elite athletes in the most challenging of conditions, Gill has grown into an established quality technical apparel brand. Distributed around the world to 37 countries and via a mix of wholesale and D2C channels it is one of the leading technical clothing brands in the marine industry.
Brand Purpose:
Pioneers of technical marine product, protecting adventurers against the elements
This role suits an experienced marketeer who can blend their experience of building brands through authentic story telling, with their passion and interest in sailing and all things boating. For the right candidate this role offers high levels of autonomy to drive the brand forward in all aspects of marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Strategic Leadership
oDevelop and implement the company’s overarching marketing vision and strategy.
oAlign marketing initiatives with business objectives to drive growth and profitability.
2.Brand Management
oEnhance and improve the company’s brand identity and market presence.
oLead creative campaigns and storytelling to resonate with target audiences.
3.Digital Marketing and Analytics
oOversee digital marketing strategies, social media, email campaigns, and paid ads.
oLeverage data analytics to measure marketing effectiveness and optimise strategies.
4.Team Management
oBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
oFoster collaboration across departments to ensure consistent messaging.
5.Market Research
oAnalyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor strategies.
oIdentify new opportunities for innovation and growth.
6.Stakeholder Collaboration
oPartner with product development, sales, and finance teams to align marketing efforts.
oPresent marketing strategies and performance to stakeholders and the board.
