Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Ferndown Industrial Estate, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with a half day finish on Friday
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a local manufacturing company for either an experienced Manufacturing Engineer or a Graduate looking for a career to help take this company forward in the market as one of the leaders in their field.
The role will involve working in a varied and technically interesting capacity where you will be directly involved in new product introduction and improvements. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of products supplied around the world and pride themselves on high quality and delivering the best service to customers.
The day-to-day responsibility for this role is to continuously improve all manufacturing processes across the site with the overall aim to maximise efficiency, reduce wastage and increase quality. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a team that plays a key role in ensuring new product introduction projects are completed to a high standard.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of mechanical principles and experience on NPI projects and working in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
* Manufacturing Engineer/ Production Engineer
* Working with a team to resolve process issues and identify areas for improvement
* Implementing changes to improve productivity, quality and cost
* Ensuring regulatory requirements and standards are met
* Managing the design for manufacture of products for internal and sub contract production
* Ensure tooling, jigs and work instructions are available at the point of manufacture
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives
* Guide and support production staff to ensure quality and operational standards are met
* Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations
* Undertake reviews to streamline process and reduce waste
Person Specification
* Previous experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within Production / Manufacturing company or a Graduate (Engineering Discipline) looking for the next step in their career.
* Knowledge of assembly techniques
* Knowledge of CAD software
* Experience of working within a production / manufacturing engineering environment
* Practical and innovative
* Dynamic approach
* Computer Literate
