The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, efficient and organised Payroll professional to join our Human Resources team as Payroll and Benefits Specialist. You will work within our HR team – and your main responsibility will be to administer the monthly processing of the payrolls for UK and Ireland.
You will be responsible for managing the payroll schedule from data collection at the start of the cycle through to completion of post-commit reporting and responsibilities. You will work closely with finance teams at month end and during audits. Driving the administration of annual cycles of pay review and management of bonus and commission schemes. Your responsibilities will include the management of employee benefits including pension and health insurance schemes, liaising with third parties and employees. Working within the team you will support with some of the administration functions to ensure that data maintained is accurate across systems and that regular audits of data are undertaken.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Accurate and timely maintenance of the payroll database including starters, leavers and amendments ensuring each payroll runs accurately and in line with the timetable – identify and correct errors ensuring payslips are checked against submissions
Ensure that all paperwork and the monthly payroll spreadsheet is completed by the cut-off date each month and changes are processed within the payroll portal –verify all changes are appropriately approved
Manage overtime, holiday and sickness records for payroll processing
Ensure all court orders, statutory payments and benefit deductions are accurate
Ensure all eligible employees are enrolled onto the company pension scheme and manage scheme payments
Close liaison with the outsourced payroll & benefits providers (UK & Ireland) ensuring all regulatory submissions are produced to deadlines
Provide support and solve staff payroll queries
Liaison with Finance department and auditors with payroll related issues
Assist with preparation of annual P11D reporting
Support with bonus and commission calculation and preparation
Manage monthly accrual process for bonus and commission budgets
Monitor & maintain employee benefits services i.e. healthcare, pension, childcare vouchers etc.
Upload monthly pension payments to provider
Address general HR queries / administration / filing
Skills, Education & Experience
Proven experience in payroll and benefits including end to end payroll and pension processing is essential.
Experience with different payroll systems
Experience of administering salary sacrifice schemes
Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
High sensitivity to confidential employee information
Ability to manage workload in a fast-changing environment
Numerate with strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Pro-active and confident liaising with both colleagues internally and externally
Experience of working within a performance management environment – KPIs and Service Level Agreements
