Overview
Are you looking for a senior clinical post which will allow you to develop leadership skills? Are you passionate about working with the elderly population in a busy, dynamic environment? The Elderly Medicine Therapy team at Royal Derby Hospital are recruiting to a Band 6 secondment for 9 months, on a part time basis. The post holder will be joining an established, vibrant and friendly team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and assistant staff who share an office base and work closely together to provide a consistent and responsive Therapy service to all Elderly Medicine wards. The team is led by an Operational Lead Therapist (Physio) and a Clinical Lead OT.
Currently the OT team comprises of both full time and part time staff including one Band 7 (clinical lead), 4 band 6 OTs, 2 Band 5 OTs (2x rotational) and 2 Generic Therapy assistants. You will be required to carry a caseload independently and provide supervision and support to assist more junior OT staff as necessary. You will have experience in working with the elderly population and will be expected to play an active role in the development of the service and the individuals within the service. You must also be adaptable, calm and be able to effectively delegate work to OT and assistant staff to ensure priorities across the service are covered.
