About the Role
We’re seeking a Network Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting a large and complex enterprise IT environment.
In this role, you’ll work closely with senior engineers to support and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and rapid resolution of incidents. You’ll play a key role in maintaining critical services, improving operational processes, and contributing to the continuous evolution of the organisation’s digital estate.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide technical support for network infrastructure, primarily within enterprise environments (e.g. Cisco technologies)
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network and infrastructure incidents to minimise service disruption
* Respond to and support major incidents, collaborating with cross‑functional technical teams
* Analyse recurring issues and contribute to problem management and root cause analysis
* Raise and manage Requests for Change (RFCs) and support change implementation processes
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date technical documentation and knowledge base articles
* Monitor data centre and communications room equipment, escalating to third‑party vendors where required
* Support broader infrastructure areas including virtualisation, storage, operating systems, and data security
* Collaborate with project teams to support transition of new services into live environments
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
* Occasionally lead small technical work packages or project tasks
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
* Proven experience in IT service delivery (typically 3–5+ years)
* Strong knowledge of network infrastructure and connectivity
* Experience working with enterprise networking technologies (e.g. Cisco)
* Broad understanding of:
* Operating systems (endpoints and servers)
* Enterprise applications and systems
* Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL), including incident and problem management
Skills
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
* Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
* Excellent communication skills across technical and non‑technical audiences
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
* Relevant IT qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
* ITIL Foundation (or working towards)
