Head of Healthcare – HMP Dovegate
Location: HMP Dovegate, Category B male prison, near Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE. We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join a well‑staffed, fully integrated healthcare team managing Primary Care, Mental Health and Substance Misuse across the prison of approximately 1,060–1,160 prisoners.
Hours & Compensation
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday core office hours.
Salary: £62,000 – £68,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus £4,000 car allowance and up to 10% discretionary bonus.

Responsibilities
* Provide management of the healthcare services on site, with overall responsibility for delivering a highly functional clinical service within agreed budgets
* Maintain the strategic direction of the service and deliver on agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England
* Lead, develop and motivate the team to deliver the best service possible
* Work closely with senior management within the prison, finance business partner and regional manager
* Demonstrate strong service delivery and change management experience

Qualifications & Experience
* Clinical or non‑clinical applications welcome
* Inclusive leadership approach embedding a culture of continuous progression and innovation
* Significant experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams
* Experience as a CQC‑registered manager, or equivalent registered body
* Experience managing multifaceted budgets
* Experience of client management or meeting commissioner expectations
* Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders
