About Us
Manchester Port Health Authority plays a vital role in protecting public health at the port of Manchester. We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Office Manager to join our small but dedicated team.
The Role
As Office Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office and supporting the Chief Port Health Officer and wider team. This is a varied, hands-on role that covers administration, finance, supplier management, and HR support.
Key Responsibilities:
* General office organisation and administrative support
* Managing correspondence, filing systems, and diary management
* Preparing agendas, taking minutes, and coordinating meetings
* Supporting budget preparation and managing financial records
* Managing supplier contracts and overseeing office maintenance
* Creating reports, spreadsheets, and statistical summaries
* Reconciling bank statements and handling petty cash
* Uploading documents to the website and assisting with internal communications
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven office management or senior admin experience
* Strong IT skills (especially Microsoft Office & Excel)
* Good understanding of basic finance (invoicing, reconciliation, budgeting)
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
* High level of attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
