Please join us for a recruitment drop in session at St Chads House, St Georges Hospital, Corporation Street, Stafford, ST16 3AG on the 3rd of July between 5pm-7pm where our team can give you a real insight into the role and what its like to work for the Eating Disorders Service.


HEALTHCARE SUPPORT WORKER Specialist Eating Disorder In-patient Unit, Eating Disorders Service Kinver Centre, Stafford


We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated and innovative individual with an interest in specialising in this field of adult mental health.


Your role will be to assist in the planning, implementing and evaluating the holistic care afforded to our patients, supporting them at meal times and throughout their stay within the unit.

You will be based at the Kinver Centre in Stafford, working shift patterns that will include rotation onto nights and weekends.We are committed to continued professional development and therefore training and clinical supervision will be provided.
The Clinical Support Worker role is to assist qualified nurses in the delivery of direct care to clients. Clinical Support Workers are to work under the direction of a qualified or senior nurse and shall only operate under their own initiative when significant risk is apparent and delay in seeking support or advice would increase that level of risk.
Clinical Support Workers have a vital role to play in observing client actions and interactions and reporting these in a clear and concise manner to qualified staff.

To support qualified nurses by undertaking directed tasks or the monitoring and reportingback activity. To bring to the attention of a qualified nurse any action or activity that is likely to place theclient or ward visitors at risk. To assist or act on behalf of those clients who cannot maintain their own personal health /hygiene and well being. Has the ability to support the qualified member of staff with setting up NG feeds / PEG feedsand monitoring them. Possess or be willing to work towards an NVQ (Level 2 - Health).

Has previous care experience.
Is keen to access knowledge and develop skills in supporting clients with complex eating disorders.
Has experience of supporting people who may present with challenging behaviours.
Has the capacity and is willing to work shifts, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications & Training
Is keen to undertake basic training in order to ensure that continuous learning takes place.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
