Your new role
HMP Parc has an exciting opportunity to join the facilities team as an Electrical Engineer. As part of the Works Department, you will be responsible for reactive repairs, planned and preventative maintenance, and installations.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and fault-finding
* Follow Health and Safety, G4S policies, and regulations
* Participate in survey inspections for quality control, including confined spaces
* Record and log all work performed
* Manage equipment and services on site as necessary
* Carry out inspections within the works department, including repairs to assets, building fabric, furniture, fixtures, fittings, grounds, access, and parking
* Work as part of a team with various skill levels
* Maintain security awareness within the prison environment
* Promote a positive health and safety culture, lead by example, report incidents or near-misses promptly, and follow all H+S procedures
Working hours are 40 hours per week on a 5 out of 7-day rotating schedule:
* Week 1: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
* Week 2: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
* Week 3: 11:00 am - 7:30 pm
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical or equivalent (must have AM2), 18th Edition, and ideally 2391 Test and Inspection (desirable but not required). Experience in maintenance is preferred but open to newly qualified candidates. We seek someone with strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and security awareness.
