Supporting the Accommodation Maintenance Team at The University of the West England (UWE), you will be responsible for completing both pre-planned and reactive remedial repairs and maintenance to the internal and external fabric of various assets.
Overview
* Working as part of the Accommodation Maintenance Team, you will maintain high-quality buildings, carrying out repairs and maintenance, both internal and external, to student accommodation.
* You will plan and complete a range of works related to minor joinery, tiling, drainage, finishes, flooring, etc.
* Perform reactive and remedial repairs as directed by the Helpdesk, including minor roof repairs, plastering, and other building fabric repairs, depending on your experience.
* Provide exceptional maintenance services to our clients, ensuring high standards in all aspects of your work.
* Use your initiative to solve technical problems, sourcing parts and materials, and seeking manufacturer support when needed.
* Complete all tasks within agreed timescales, complying with regulations and contract specifications.
* Maintain accurate reports and logs, including operation and maintenance records and risk control measures.
* Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to document work.
* Liaise with the Helpdesk for efficient response to work requests, working independently or as part of a team.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments for each task.
* Interact professionally with clients, representing the company courteously and effectively.
* Qualifications: NVQ or equivalent in Building Maintenance, CSCS Card, IT skills in using PDAs.
* Experience in customer service and maintenance within Facilities Management or Construction.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to organize and complete administrative tasks accurately.
* Team-oriented, adaptable, and eager to contribute.
