If you are someone who is energised by meaningful conversations, confident speaking with people from all walks of life, and keen to take initiative, this could be the role for you.

About the role

As our Diversity and Inclusion Officer, you’ll play a key part in bringing our inclusion ambitions to life. You’ll work closely with our Diversity and Inclusion Manager to turn strategy into practical, everyday action that makes a real difference to colleagues and residents.

You’ll help ensure lived experience shapes how we work, how we communicate and how we make decisions. From supporting colleague networks to running resident engagement activities, you’ll create safe, inclusive spaces for people to share their experiences and influence change.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Supporting the delivery of our D&I strategy for both colleagues and residents
2. Leading and coordinating colleague networks and any colleague forum
3. Building trusted relationships and initiating conversations that help us better understand people’s experiences
4. Supporting resident inclusion activities, coffee mornings, forums and events
5. Creating accessible D&I-related content for internal and resident communications
6. Helping plan and deliver key inclusion events, including our Annual Inclusion Conference
7. Providing advice and guidance on equality and inclusion
8. Monitoring activity, evaluating impact and providing clear insight reports
9. Facilitating D&I learning sessions, workshops and webinars
10. Supporting Equality Impact Assessments and using data to inform decisions

We’re looking for someone who:

11. Is confident engaging with a wide range of people, including older residents
12. Can initiate and lead conversations about D&I topics with vulnerability, empathy and respect
13. Is organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple activities at once
14. Understands key equality, diversity and inclusion principles and legislation
15. Can analyse, interpret and present data clearly
16. Has experience facilitating discussions, workshops or engagement sessions
17. Brings sensitivity, diplomacy and good judgement to their work
18. Uses initiative and is comfortable moving between operational tasks and bigger‑picture thinking
19. Experience supporting networks or forums, designing or delivering learning content, or working in housing, care or charity settings is helpful but not essential.
