The Opportunity
Hinkley Point C (HPC) is delivering two new nuclear reactors — the first of a new generation of UK nuclear power stations, providing low-carbon electricity to around six million homes.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Manager to join the Site Construction leadership team. Reporting directly to the Head of Construction Health & Safety, you will play a critical role in shaping, leading, and embedding a world-class health, safety and wellbeing culture across one of Europe’s largest and most complex construction projects.
This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with Tier 1 contractors, internal teams, regulators, and senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and set new standards for safety excellence in the nuclear sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as deputy to the Head of Construction Health & Safety, leading departmental activity and priorities
2. Provide visible, credible leadership across site, engaging operatives through to senior executives
3. Oversee Principal Contractor arrangements aligned to evolving site risk profiles
4. Drive continuous improvement programmes and consistent safety messaging across contractors
5. Coach and influence senior leaders to strengthen safety culture and behaviours
6. Manage relationships with regulators
