Responsibilities
1. Drive standardisation strategies across components, systems, and plant-wide engineering activities.
2. Promote product and process consistency through standard rules, tools, and procedures.
3. Review engineering artefacts to identify opportunities to reduce variation and improve repeatability.
4. Support optimisation of engineering workflows, improving efficiency and reducing resource and time requirements.
5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard parts catalogues and associated engineering tools.
6. Provide technical guidance and governance relating to standardisation principles and decisions.
7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to align design approaches and resolve variation issues.
8. Support integration and consistency across multiple engineering disciplines and delivery partners.
What You'll Bring
9. Experience in engineering standardisation, configuration control, product optimisation, or related disciplines.
10. Background in complex engineering environments such as nuclear, energy, aerospace, automotive, defence, rail, or manufacturing.
11. Strong understanding of engineering processes, component interfaces, and product lifecycle considerations.
12. Heavy mechanical product knowledge.
13. Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
14. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
15. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
16. Must be a driven individual who is able to take full accountability for delivering set work packages.
Experience Required
17. MEng Degree or HNC with proven experience in Mechanical Engineering.
18. Knowledge of engineering data management systems and standard parts catalogues.
19. Familiarity with regulated industries and quality assurance processes.
20. Experience working with suppliers and external engineering partners.
21. Six Sigma is desirable but not essential.
