About the Role
:
This will be an interesting and varied role where you will ultimately support the University to improve the student experience and deliver the highest standards of education and support for all students.
You will contribute to the institutional objectives through delivering a strategy for evaluating a range of initiatives that support and implement our Thematic Strategies, particularly our Education Strategy.
You will be responsible for writing and analysing management information, data and reports to identify trends and inform decision making. You will also work with colleagues to understand the implications of insight drawn from the data and how the data can be applied to improve our student offer.
Typically, you will:
1. Manage and deliver specific monitoring and evaluation initiatives particularly in relation to the University's Education provision.
2. Apply appropriate analytical techniques to effectively identify data trends and communicate the information ensuring that outputs are widely used.
3. Develop strong working relationships with senior managers in both academic and central service areas to develop evaluation frameworks and apply the evaluation findings to shape the delivery of projects.
The ideal candidate:
4. Experience of evaluation research primarily quantitative and also qualitative research techniques and methodologies.
5. Ability to balance competing demands and manage expectations, bearing in mind the needs of the customer and operational priorities
6. Experience in developing and operating successful information analysis operations in an organisation of comparable size and complexity, including: Undertaking complex data gathering/information retrieval;
7. Statistical analysis;
8. Constructing complex multi-layered spreadsheets;
9. Integrating different databases to provide consolidated management information;
10. Analysing complex data sets to provide conclusions and solution;

Planning supports the delivery of institutional strategy through oversight of the planning process, monitoring and analysing institutional performance, assessing risk and supporting strategy developments. We provide analysis and insight to support policy development.
