Overview

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking a Support Worker to join our team in Woking, Surrey. This part-time, permanent role is 30 hours per week.


About the role

At our service in Woking, we support 5 people who share their home and 2 people who live more independently in the community. You will provide high-quality, flexible support to individuals with learning disabilities and help people live as independently as possible and enjoy a great life.


Responsibilities

* Provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities.
* Assist with daily living activities, community participation, and developing independent living skills.
* Build meaningful relationships through effective communication.
* Support individuals to plan and participate in activities, routines, and personal goals.


Qualifications and attributes

* Genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.


Contract options and shift times

* Part-time: 30 hours per week.
* Shifts: Days 07:00–22:00; Sleep-ins 22:00–07:00. All services are 24-hour care and rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance.
* Sleep-in supplement: enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70 where applicable.


Salary and benefits

£24,570 per annum, pro-rata (or £12.60 per hour) with excellent benefits including pension options, health plans, discounts, and more.
