We currently have an exciting opportunity within Nationwide Platforms as a Technical Trainer. As Technical Trainer, you will work with the Training team, covering the Southern area.
Responsibilities include developing and delivering technical skills training for Nationwide Platforms' fleet, including MEWP's, Truck and Van Mounted equipment, Tracked Booms, and BlueSky products for engineers in the UK and internationally. Frequent travel (approximately three days per week) is involved, with overnight stays depending on your home location. A flexible, adaptable, and resilient character is essential due to the reactive nature of the engineering side of the business.

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver engineering-based courses (not limited to):
* Pre-Delivery/Post-Hire Inspection
* Foundation Courses
* Tech Electrics
* Tech Hydraulics
* Tech Schematics
* Tech Engine
* Tech Inspection - Pre-Delivery/Post-Hire Inspection
* Advanced Fault Finding: Electrical and Hydraulic systems
* Obtain accreditation for Manufacturer Training Courses
1. Maintain and develop courseware to ensure currency
2. Deliver at least 100 training days annually (face-to-face, virtual, online), with additional development and stakeholder consultancy days
3. Act as a company ambassador, demonstrating high integrity, safety standards, and QHSE compliance
4. Manage small training projects
5. Plan and execute Train the Trainer (TtT) sessions where applicable
6. Prepare training with risk assessments for classroom and practical sessions
7. Conduct assessments and complete paperwork accurately
8. Undertake training courses as requested, working towards relevant qualifications such as NVQ Assessor, CAP, or manufacturer qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
The company will provide training for Level 3 Education and Training (PTLLS). The role includes developing and attaining this qualification, with opportunities for career progression such as IPAF Instructor status, moving from Band 3 to Band 4. The role offers further development pathways, including apprenticeships in teaching or L&D.

* Formal qualification in an aligned area (e.g., Heavy Plant Maintenance, Powered Access, Fork Truck, Telehandler, Crane, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance)
* Excellent interpersonal skills and an engaging communication style
* Open-minded, adaptable, and responsive
* Resilient with a strong work ethic
* Effective self and time management skills
* High literacy and numeracy standards
* Comfortable working at height
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in Powered Access Engineering with relevant qualifications and manufacturer training
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Word
* Experience in coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or teaching in a business or educational setting
