Senior Control Systems Engineer
A growing engineering and technology business based in High Wycombe is seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, research-driven environment developing and supporting bespoke high-tech equipment used in advanced material applications.
The role offers a broad range of responsibilities, from maintaining and developing control systems software to supporting production and contributing to R&D initiatives.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Control System Engineer:
* Maintain and update existing PC-based software
* Maintain and support PLC software (Mitsubishi preferred)
* Assist in the creation of system schematics and interlock designs
* Ensure safety and reliability of system controls
* Create and manage documentation for all software changes
* Provide fault-finding and technical troubleshooting support
* Collaborate with the sales team on technical matters
* Work alongside test and installation teams to ensure FAT documentation is up to date
* Contribute to R&D and new product development activities
Requirements of the Senior Control System Engineer:
* Degree in engineering or science (or equivalent industry experience)
* Experience with industrial control software and electronics
* Familiarity with PC software development (VB.net preferred)
* PLC programming experience (ideally Mitsubishi)
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated with a proactive and positive approach
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working with scientific or technical instrumentation
* PCB design experience
