Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has a new opportunity for a Class 3 Qualified Senior Building Control Surveyor (Band 4) on a 3 months contract with a possibility of further extension.
Working pattern- Hybrid, in the office and on-site
Most important bit- Needs to have experience in building control and be-or recently have been a senior building control surveyor.
Responsibilities
* Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects.
* Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
* Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person).
* Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours.
* Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence.
* Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors.
* Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties.
Required Skills
* Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification.
* Full corporate membership status with a recognized professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
* Minimum of seven years’ experience in Building Control.
* Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
* Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills.
* Strong team player with a sense of responsibility.
