About the job The Fraud Commercial Insight Analyst will support the Revenue Protection work to reduce fraudulent travel through various mean, such as short ticketing, misuse of tickets, and railcard fraud. The Fraud Commercial Insight Analyst will have access to multiple data sources and will be the main requisitioner of data from ticket suppliers with whom we have data sharing agreements. The role will be integral in the investigation of potentially fraudulent activity across the network, leading to the successful reduction in that activity and an improvement in Revenue at Risk. This is a key support role in fulfilling SWR's purpose as by interpreting business data needs and returning rich and user-friendly data and reports it will enable the rest of the business to operate faster and smarter when working on initiatives to bring people together to get the most out of life. Your main responsibilities will be: Conduct objective, fair, thorough, unbiased, and timely reviews of reports from frontline colleagues to determine if there are any suspicious activities. Undertake analysis of data from various sources to detect suspicious activity. Produce intelligence reports, and task Fraud Investigators to undertake further enquires. Write deployment plans for a team of frontline RPA to be deployed across the network to tackle specific issues of fraudulent travel. Be the subject matter expert in the analysis of various fraud types. Support the Fraud Manager in reporting results of Short Ticketing investigation activities for periodic and quarterly reporting to stakeholders. Support the Fraud Manager in developing a high standard of analytics, using a range of different tools You'll need to be: To have a working knowledge of loss prevention or revenue protection methods, and relevant laws and legal procedures. To have experience working in a crime detection or analysis role, either in revenue protection, policing, or associated fields. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Have a high level of attention for detail and be highly literate in using complex data systems. Be resilient and able to cope in a pressured environment Expert user of Excel for modelling and analysis essential, experience using BI Tools, eg Power BI (preferred) or Tableau. Skilled in translating complex data into easy to understand and relevant management information. Desirable Knowledge of relevant rail commercial systems (e.g. Lennon, MOIRA) desirable.
