Job Overview
Working at Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre and reporting to the Head of Compliance and Performance, this role will operate, maintain and manage the requirements of the sites QSHE processes and procedures. As a QHSE Manager you'll ensure that all equipment is correctly maintained and repaired, maximising efficiency on operation and the safety of all other personnel at all times.
Main Responsibilities
•Identify and implement strategies to reduce risk for Mitie and its clients, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice.
•Ensure operational managers and staff have the necessary technical competence through the delivery of formal training and safe working practices.
•Provide expert guidance on QHSE, and Fire Safety matters, supporting contract mobilisations and ensuring legal responsibilities are understood and met.
•Conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents and accidents, manage insurance-related documentation, and produce QHSE performance reports.
•Collaborate with the QHSE Lead and regional managers to develop and implement strategies, represent QHSE at meetings, and liaise with enforcing authorities when required.
What we are looking for
•NEBOSH Certificate /equivalent or above.
•Knowledge of Fire Safety legislation and undertaking of Fire Risk Assessments.
•Environmental Management.
•Experience of industrial work & work at heights.
•Experience of Integrated Facilities Management sector, in particular Hard or Soft Services where applicable.
•Grad IOSH working towards CMIOSH.
Eligibility Criteria
•You must be a British Citizen, EU citizen with settled status, or have an ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) from a Commonwealth country
•Bankruptcy history, CCJs, social media activity and criminal convictions will be closely scrutinized
•You must have lived in the UK for the past three years with no significant footprint outside of the UK other than for normal holidays
