REPORTING TO: Head of Quality
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The key purpose of the role will be the production of high-quality wiring connections, wiring harnesses and complex assemblies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
* To create high quality crimped connections using a mixture of manual, semi-automated and automated tools and equipment including Wirmec and Mecal crimp presses and a Komax Alpha crimp to crimp machine
* Be responsible for the correct set up and TPM of all electronics production equipment
* To assemble wiring harnesses, working to engineering drawings and process instruction sheets
* To assemble complex electro-mechanical assemblies working to engineering drawings and process instruction sheets
* To work with the Electronics Design team to produce high quality prototype harnesses and assemblies
* Test and inspect crimps and connections to industry recognised standards
* Test and inspect final electrical assemblies ensuring no fault forward and high levels of customer satisfaction
* To provide input into customer quotations using industry best practice and expert knowledge
* Stock control and notification of parts ordering requirements to ensure production continuity
* General basic administrative duties to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the department

* Productivity targets in line with customer requirements
* Quality of finished parts
HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
* Knowledge and experience of the set up and use of Wirmec and Mecal Presses and inspection equipment.
* Electronics manufacturing experience
* A flexible approach to the requirements of the business
* A motivated self-starter that requires minimal supervision
* Keen to progress in a fast-paced exciting environment
DESIRABLE:
* Komax Machine Operator experience
* Practical and industry-based knowledge of electronics product and process design
