Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990 - $2130
Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Location: Jersey City, NJ 07302 (New Jersey healthcare jobs)
Unit: 20-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
Start Date: November 24, 2025
End Date: February 23, 2026
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:15)
Hours per Week: 36
Every other weekend required
May float between MS/Tele units as needed
Scrub Color: Navy Blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications Active New Jersey or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)
BLS & ACLS certifications (required at time of submission)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg Telemetry
Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 preferred
First-time travel nurses welcome
Ability to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays (strong preference for Christmas availability)
Willingness to float within skillset as needed
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry unit
Monitor, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythms; manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Administer medications, initiate and maintain IVs, and manage feeding tubes
Perform phlebotomy and deliver post-myocardial infarction (post-MI) care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including rapid response and patient transport
Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records
Float between Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units as needed based on census and acuity
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards
