The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Integration Manager to lead the establishment of a Data Engineering and BI Development function at Tameside. The role is crucial in our drive towards data-driven decision making and improved public services.
You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within Microsoft’s Fabric environment, integrating datasets and enabling analytics and reporting via Power BI for various local government functions.
The scope includes data related to Social Care, geospatial information, publicly available datasets, and more. You will also contribute to developing our data strategy and maximizing digital infrastructure investments.
You will lead a newly formed Data Integration Team within the council’s Business Intelligence Service, collaborating with Systems, Analytics, ICT, and Information Governance teams.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape Tameside Council’s modern data infrastructure. The work is largely 'greenfield', offering significant impact and skill development opportunities.
About You
You should be an experienced data professional with leadership experience in Data Engineering or BI Development roles.
Ideal candidates will have experience standardizing and automating data flows and reports, building dashboards, and using languages like SQL or Python within modern PAAS or SAAS platforms. Experience in the Public Sector is a plus.
You need strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and people management skills, along with excellent communication, numerical, and stakeholder relationship abilities.
