Job Description
Performs risk assessment for SCOR Business Solutions Onshore Energy clients and provides Engineering support to Energy Construction as well as other lines for Oil & Chemical occupancies (e.g. liability…). Handles property risk inspections/visits/surveys, writes reports on behalf of the Company and conducts relevant in-house or external property risk related trainings/seminars for mostly Oil, Petrochemical and Chemical Occupancies. Develops and provides technical advice on engineering tools and methods to support the Energy Underwriting staff. Manages Energy and Power engineers that are part of the risk control – Energy practice, composed of SCOR engineers and external consultants.
Responsibilities
Manage SCOR Energy Engineering activities by using internal engineers and external consultants to provide adequate technical support to SCOR underwriters and insureds.
Conduct / participate in site visits on behalf of SCOR for energy risks (gas plants, oil refineries, LNG plants, petrochemical and chemical plants), and potentially power generation plants. Write internal or market reports.
Perform Technical Accumulation Reviews (TAR) to assist underwriters in Group Accumulation Liability (GAL) determination for large & complex multi-tenant locations.
Conduct desktops reviews for complex accounts to assist underwriters.
Conduct internal training sessions for underwriters and seminars for customers on Risk Control topics.
Provide technical support to SCOR Underwriters for assessing the risk quality, loss estimates and potential risks accumulation.
Provide technical assistance to the claims department when required
Provide support in establishing internal guidelines on Risk Control topics.
Develop and enhance reports formats, risk gradings,
Assist in continuous development of valuation tools, loss estimation models, report database and management tools
Develop and maintain a network of qualified and recognized risk control experts in the area, including partnership with specialized companies and freelance in certain fields of expertise. Manage all work orders, quality control of reports, and supervise invoice handling.
Provide help and support to some corporate insured clients to establish Risk Management programs.
Liaise with technical expertise groups (internal & external) on issues related to Energy risks. Engage actively with engineering groups.
Manage a team of Risk Control Engineers, including its organization, resource allocation, and interactions across disciplines and with other areas in SCOR. Coach the team and manage its development and training.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Competencies
Experience: -
Extensive experience as risk control engineer on similar occupancies.
Demonstrated experience as manager
English: fluent (mandatory). Primary working language.
French: strong advantage, as SCOR headquarters and several key stakeholders are based in Paris.
Spanish: additional asset, given a large customer base in Spanish-speaking countries.

Education
* Higher education degree in Engineering, Risk Management or equivalent
