Position: Casual Crematorium Assistant Location: Trent Valley Crematorium, Derby. Job Type: Casual Salary: £12.60 per hour We're looking for a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a Crematorium Assistant at Trent Valley Crematorium on a Casual Basis. In this role you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the crematorium, contributing to an environment of respect and dignity while providing essential assistance to both our staff and the families we serve. The Role As a Crematorium Assistant, your work will vary from day to day - from maintaining the grounds and preparing chapels, to supporting with enquiries and assisting during services. This role is hands-on, people-focused, and calls for someone who is organised, respectful, and comfortable with the physical aspects of the role. Key responsibilities To undertake the full range of gardening, cemetery and horticultural tasks. Responsible for opening and closing the site gates and book of remembrance room. Maintain the grounds to the highest standard in accordance with recognised horticultural and grounds maintenance practices. Communicating regularly with clients through all avenues be it email, face-to-face and telephone as well as preparing letters. Prepares chapels for each service considering client needs including varying religious requirements. Conduct witness interments and scattering of the cremated remains. Ensuring the consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service. About you We're looking for someone who: Enjoys working outdoors in all seasons Has a demonstrable understanding of groundskeeping practices, including planting, pruning, landscaping, mowing and trimming. Pays close attention to detail Works well independently and as part of a team Has a respectful and professional approach Presentable at all times, acting with professional conduct and showing empathy.
