Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Urgent Care team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC). The role is a permanent, full‑time Band 4 position with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT). RBFT delivers a first‑class, efficient, pro‑active and patient‑focused admin service.
Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organised individual to provide specialist admin support to the CAT 11 team that supports Cardiology, Respiratory and Stroke Medicine. You will work confidently within a fast‑paced team, have excellent IT skills, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues at all levels, and work quickly and accurately under pressure.
Main duties of the job
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to CAT 11, Cardiology, Respiratory & Stroke Departments and clinicians.
* Support the CAT in delivering a patient‑focused service.
* Process general admin duties, answer telephones from patients, healthcare providers and internal staff.
* Schedule appointments and process clinic letters.
* Maintain data using multiple computer systems (electronic and paper based). Knowledge of the 18‑week pathway is beneficial.
* Ensure compliance with local procedures, deadlines and best practice.

Qualification
* Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience.
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A‑C.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
* Experience of using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
* Experience of working in a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Customer Care experience.
* Experience of handling patient/customer queries.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
* Experience of using digital dictation systems.
* Experience of using patient data systems.
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
Previous Experience
* Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions.
* Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team.
Desirable Previous Experience
* Experience of handling patient complaints.
