The Parking Operations Officer post is now vacant, presenting an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic individual to spearhead civil enforcement and highway event management across our vibrant county.
In this dynamic and high-impact role, you will:
1. Lead and inspire the Civil Enforcement and Events teams, setting performance objectives, delivering hands-on training and carrying out regular staff appraisals.
2. Plan and manage daily patrol and event schedules, respond swiftly to service requests and adapt officer deployment to maintain a consistent enforcement presence.
3. Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational issues, applying sound judgement and implementing rapid-response protocols.
4. Analyse incident trends, develop proactive strategies to prevent recurrence and improve resilience across enforcement operations.
5. Represent the parking service at meetings with residents, businesses and event organisers, fostering positive relationships to support safe, well-organised events.
6. Oversee the procurement and maintenance of enforcement equipment in line with Council regulations.
7. Support budget planning, identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous service improvements through data-led analysis and stakeholder feedback.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
8. Supervisory experience in civil parking enforcement, traffic management or related operational services.
9. Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside strong verbal and written communication.
10. A full UK driving licence, fluency in English under the Immigration Act 2016 and the right to work in the UK.
11. Familiarity with Civil Enforcement Officer legislation and Traffic Management Orders, with experience in highway event management being advantageous.
12. Confidence using IT systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, GIS software and permit-control applications.
13. Professionalism in handling challenging customer interactions and flexibility to adapt to changing systems and peak workload demands.
14. A working knowledge of health and safety requirements within an operational context.
15. You will act as the key link between front-line Civil Enforcement Supervisors and the Parking Operations Manager, demonstrating excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. You'll support scheduling and performance reviews, manage attendance and contribute to the successful delivery of projects and service developments.
