A Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems, strong mechanical knowledge, and electrical experience will be assigned to deliver on-site services and support
three days per week—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday—for 8 hours each day at a leading university within Liverpool. The aim of this 12-week project is to provide support in managing PCS operations and overseeing specialist contractors engaged for planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks via the service hub.
Your new role
The primary responsibility of the secondment is to ensure PCS can meet the demands placed on mechanical services. This includes responding to emails and calls from the service hub, coordinating contractor activities, and maintainingmunication with PCS managers.Collaboration with team members is essential, with a focus on identifying safety risks and agreeing safe working methods in consultation with the Head of Department. The engineer will also evaluate the performance of specialist contractors, ensuring best practices andpliance with Health and Safety regulations throughout the assignment.
What you'll need to succeed
- NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with HVAC systems
- Experience working on PPMs
- Preferably public sector experience
