Regional SHE Managers provide a crucial service to the businesses within the Robertson Group. They provide personnel across our business with advice, guidance, and support services on SHE related matters, as well as undertaking a corporate governance role on behalf of the senior management teams, at both individual business and Robertson Group levels. The organisational structure of the Robertson Group SHE Department facilitates efficient use of SHE resources across our business, whilst the integration of the SHE teams within operational delivery teams seeks to secure a team approach to problem solving and encourage the sharing of best practice across the range of our undertakings. To facilitate support to and integration within the business management teams, each Regional SHE Manager has a core geographic responsibility and interfaces with all parts of the business which operate within that geographic area. Whilst they are directly managed by and report to the Head of SHE, they have an indirect reporting line to senior managers within the different businesses that operate within their geographic area. Through this structure they form an integral part of the management teams within the businesses within their regional area. The Head of SHE will also liaise with business heads to ensure there is a common understanding about priorities and initiatives across the Robertson Group as a whole, the individual businesses and the SHE support needed to deliver these. What you’ll do: Conduct site inspections and audits in line with agreed programmes. Participate in significant incident investigations. Assess the SHE competence of vendors at Stage 1 of the CDM competence assessment process. Produce written reports in relation to inspections, audits, and incident investigations in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols. Liaise with local business heads and the HR Dept in relation to the delivery and monitoring of training in accordance with core training matrices. Deliver in-house SHE training courses; Attend and participate at SHE Department meetings. Attend and participate at local Robertson Group businesses SHE meetings. Liaise with Enforcing Authorities as appropriate; ( Note – this should be done ONLY after consultation with the Group HEAD of SHE and Group SHE Executive Director.) Liaise with other SHE professionals within the business as appropriate to further SHEQ performance. Any other relevant duties your line manager may from time to time require you to undertake. What you’ll need: Previous experience in the construction industry. Previous experience of health and safety, environmental or quality system auditing. NEBOSH Diploma as a minimum, or equivalent, in occupational health and safety or environmental management. Membership of an appropriate professional body at an appropriate level, commensurate with experience and qualifications and participation in an ongoing CPD programme. Good communication and IT skills. Commitment to delivering a professional, quality service. What, or how much, the jobholder is expected to achieve. Be viewed as: A positive contributor to SHE and wider business performance within the local geographic region within which they operate - and the Robertson Group. An active contributor in SHE meetings and forums within the local geographic region within which they operate - and the wider Robertson Group. Adopting a rigorous, professional, approach to the delivery of SHE services. Timely production of inspection, audit, incident, and management reports. Energetic and enthusiastic SHE professional with a passion for driving SHE improvements and continuous learnings. Anything else to be noted for the role here, eg. For a Planner role As a Regional SHE Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting SHE management activities across the Central East region. You will work closely with the Group SHE team to drive the implementation of the Group SHE strategy and ensure continuous improvement across the business. This role includes regular interaction with senior leadership, including attendance at monthly board meetings where you will present SHE performance updates for both the monthly and quarterly periods. As such, previous experience in a senior SHE role with exposure to executive-level reporting and strategic influence will be highly advantageous.
