Overview
As a Class 1 HGV Driver (tramper), you’ll be out on the road for a few days at a time, moving food products from factories to wholesalers. You’ll be handling multi-drop deliveries and ensuring everything gets where it needs to be, on time and in great condition. You’ll be driving well-maintained vehicles with modern, temperature-controlled trailers, working for a company that values its drivers and offers strong support.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Safely driving Class 1 vehicles, delivering fresh and frozen food products to wholesalers and distribution centres.
* Using refrigerated trailers and monitoring temperature settings.
* Making multiple drops across different locations, including busy city areas like London and Birmingham, ensuring deliveries are accurate and on time.
* Carrying out vehicle checks before and after shifts to keep everything running smoothly.
* Keeping logbooks up to date and following all road safety rules.
About You
You’ll need a Class 1 (C+E) licence and at least 2 years of driving experience, plus a valid CPC and DIGI card. If you’ve done tramping or refrigerated deliveries before, that’s a bonus, but full training will be provided for the right person.
This role involves a lot of city driving, especially in busy areas, so you’ll need to be confident handling a truck in tight urban spaces. A good understanding of UK driving rules and road safety is important, along with time management and the ability to work independently. A positive attitude and a focus on great customer service are also important.
