Main duties of the job
Seeing a booked clinic with face to face patient each day, one day will be a duty day where you may have to carry out a home visit, and will have a mixture of appointments on that day between pre-booked and urgent on the day acutes and you will be the responsible GP available to answer queries from other members of the team. We sign up to enhanced services and QOF and would expect you to complete areas of QOF allocated to you.
About us
Bridge Street Surgery is a sole partner 4 salaried GP surgery, based in the Market Town of Brigg, North Lincolnshire, within easy access to the motorway being around 3 miles from junction 4 of the M180. There are lots of amenities in the local area, including a Leisure Centre and Forest Pines Hotel and golf course within 3 miles. Brigg has an array of unique shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants. We are a dispensing practice with a list size of 7,500 patients, our clinical system is EMIS. We work core hours 8.00am to 18.30pm with extended hours also as part of our PCN. We are a friendly supportive practice and you would also be working with a wider MDT to include Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Physician Associate, Mental Health Nurse, FCP, Clinical Pharmacists and CVD care co‑ordinator.
We offer 6 weeks annual leave plus Bank Holidays, NHS pension scheme, MDU membership and BMA contract.
We have 1 partner, 4 salaried GP's, a Physician Associate, 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants. We are part of a PCN and have shared members of staff across three sites to include Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurse and Care‑Coordinator.
Job responsibilities
To provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking and clinical assessment through to diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for our patients. You will work collaboratively with the Healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policies and procedures. You will have appointments bookable on the day and also pre-booked appointments.
There will be admin tasks to complete from other members of the team, referrals, test requests. We sign up for QOF each year as well as carrying out enhanced services. Prescriptions are signed off every day and all GP's do this on a daily basis. Results are actioned every day and cover for this is expected for colleagues on annual leave. We have monthly Practice/Clinical meetings which you would be expected to attend wherever possible.
Qualifications
* We are looking for a qualified GP with experience of working in a GP surgery.
