Our client, a well-regarded educational setting in Woking, is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students with special educational needs achieve their full potential.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive, nurturing environment tailored to each student’s individual needs. You’ll support students 1:1 and in small groups, adapt learning materials, and use a range of strategies to boost engagement, confidence, and progress.
The school is committed to fostering a collaborative environment where every staff member feels valued. You’ll have the chance to contribute to personalised learning plans, take part in regular team meetings, and access ongoing professional development to strengthen your practice in SEN support.
What we’re looking for:
1. A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with special educational needs
2. Strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiated learning
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Organisational ability and confidence working alongside teachers, parents, and external professionals
5. A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
6. Relevant education/SEN qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
7. Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
8. Awareness of a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, including ASD, ADHD, and dyslexia
9. Confidence using assistive technology and adaptive learning tools
10. A clear, enhanced DBS check
Key Responsibilities:
11. Provide personalised support to students with a variety of additional needs
12. Adapt and prepare learning resources to ensure accessibility
13. Implement strategies to promote engagement, independence, and progress
14. Support the creation and delivery of personalised learning plans
15. Participate in team meetings and ongoing training
