Job Description:
We are looking to fill an exciting Deputy Director of Resilience role within DWP's Finance Group. The successful candidate will lead DWP through incidents and emergencies, plan for disruptions, and manage a large, remote, and diverse team of 80.
The ideal candidate will have experience in incident management, emergency response, and organizational resilience, along with strong leadership and strategic skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading the cross-DWP programme to develop and implement a comprehensive operational resilience framework by 2027.
* Owning and assuring Business Continuity, Readiness, and Response policies.
* Embedding and improving the Business Continuity Management System and Riskonnect implementation.
* Developing and testing contingency plans for various risks.
* Overseeing DWP's role in cross-government resilience initiatives.
* Leading incident and crisis management frameworks and the Gold Commanders team.
* Acting as a Gold Commander during major incidents.
* Representing resilience interests at departmental boards and cross-government initiatives.
The candidate must demonstrate:
* Substantial incident management and emergency response experience.
* Excellent people management, leadership, and inclusivity skills.
* Strategic thinking and effective communication skills.
* High emotional intelligence and organizational skills.
* Strong analytical skills and relevant professional memberships or qualifications.
