Job Description Priory Adult Care is the UK's leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate. With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. Our roles can be flexible around your lifestyle, either full or part time and with a variety of shift patterns including weekdays and weekends. Pay rate: £13.20 per hour Part-Time, Permanent Contract Day Shifts: 08:00 - 20:30 (You will be working 2 shifts p/week doing a total of 25hrs p/week) You must be able to accommodate working on a rota which will include alternating weekends (every other Saturday & Sunday). You must also have full right to work in the UK before applying for this role. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you'll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people's lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals Assistance and support to attend medical appointments Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities. Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes. Maintains professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders. Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards. To undertake key working responsibility for individual service users, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed. Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes Qualifications and Skills Must have right to work in the UK - We do not offer sponsorship for this role. Should you have limited leave to remain, you must have 9-13 months remaining on your visa before expiry. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) Willingness to work towards a Diploma/SVQ 2 in Health and Social Care Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature Empathy, understanding and patience Ability to work on your own and as part of a team Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential Combs Court is a residential service located in Stowmarket, Suffolk. The home supports up to 29 adults who have a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are situated near to the local town, in the heart of the community. Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community. Disclosure All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
