Company Description
Heat and Power Services is a specialist engineering and maintenance business operating across
renewables, biogas upgrading, CHP, with intent to explore opportunities in the petrochemical, offshore,
pharmaceutical and power generation sectors.
We provide high-level field service, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance support across the
UK and Europe, working on complex industrial gas, mechanical and electrical systems.
We are now seeking a hands-on, operational QHSE Manager to take ownership of our Quality, Health,
Safety and Environmental systems and help drive the next stage of structured growth.
This is not a corporate paperwork role.
This is a practical leadership role within a field service engineering business.
You will report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with Operations and Finance.
Role Description
- Lead and manage all QHSE matters across Heat and Power Services
- Maintain ISO 9001 certification and develop the business toward ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
- Manage audit programmes (internal and external) and liaise with certification bodies
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and industry-specific standards
- Develop practical RAMS, procedures and safe systems of work suited to field engineering operations
- Support project planning with QHSE input during mobilisation phases
- Conduct site visits, behavioural safety engagement and incident investigations
- Track, analyse and report QHSE KPIs to senior management
- Lead supplier and subcontractor QHSE assessments and vendor scoring systems
- Oversee document control, retention and compliance requirements
- Promote a positive safety and quality culture across field and office teams
- Provide light-touch advisory support to other group subsidiaries when required
About You:
We are looking for someone commercially aware, confident and self-driven - capable of working
independently while collaborating across departments.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing ISO 9001 within an engineering or industrial service environment
- Experience working within renewables, biogas, power generation, petrochemical, pharmaceutical
or offshore sectors
- Strong understanding of field service operations and contractor management
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum)
- Experience with internal audits and certification body audits
- Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation
- Confident producing reports and presenting to senior management
- Ability to influence and support operational managers
- Full (clean) UK Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation
- Experience in multi-site or group structures
- Knowledge of industrial gas systems, CHP, rotating equipment or energy infrastructure
- Lead Auditor qualification
