A successful Main Contractor within the construction industry are looking for a Buyer to join their team due to increase of work. The company work within multiple industries including Commercial, Residential; Modular/Traditional Build, Leisure and Retail are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their main office in Medway. This company carry out works across the UK and have earned a reputation for quality on projects.
THE JOB
As Buyer you will play a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Source, negotiate, and procure materials, plant, and subcontractor services for multiple projects.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure best value and quality.
* Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to meet cost and time objectives.
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and estimators to forecast material requirements.
* Monitor stock levels and arrange timely deliveries to meet site schedules.
* Maintain accurate procurement records, budgets, and reports.
* Ensure all purchases comply with company policies, project specifications, and health & safety requirements.
What they are looking for
* Proven experience as a Buyer within the construction industry (essential).
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and market trends.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems.
* Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
