We are looking for a skilled Java & Kotlin Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate has strong experience in Java, growing expertise in Kotlin, and a solid understanding of modern backend architectures, APIs, and cloud-native development.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Kotlin
* Build scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices
* Write clean, testable, and efficient code following best practices
* Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps teams
* Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions
* Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
* Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
* Maintain documentation for developed features and services
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Strong experience with Java (Java 8+)
* Hands-on experience with Kotlin (production-level preferred)
* Experience with Spring / Spring Boot (or similar frameworks)
* Solid understanding of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principles
* Experience building and consuming REST APIs
* Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
* Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control workflows
Employment type: Inside IR35 Contract.
It would be hybrid working in Burgress Hill, UK
