Role Overview
We are looking for a Vice Chair who can support the Chair of Trustees in ensuring effective governance of the charity. On occasion this may involve deputising for the Chair with responsibilities including chairing board meetings, attending the local Surrey chairs meetings, and supporting the Scheme Director in meetings with funders and potential funders.
Commitment
Individuals can commit approximately 8-10 hours of their time per month, including attendance at trustee meetings (approximately every eight weeks for two hours). Meetings alternate between Mondays 7pm-9pm and Fridays 9.30am-11.30am, with flexibility and virtual options.
Qualities & Qualifications
* Under the age of 40
* Reflect diverse ethnic backgrounds within Woking and Runnymede
* Have lived experience similar to those of the families we support
* Background in marketing or communications, particularly social media, or skills in these areas that could help us raise our profile further in the local community
* Experience of corporate fundraising
Subcommittee Participation
We have three subcommittees: finance, fundraising and operations. Each subcommittee meets virtually for 1–1.5 hours between the full trustee meetings. There is an expectation that each trustee joins one subcommittee which best suits their skills, experience and interests.
