Electrical Associate Director – Data Centres

A leading international building services engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Associate Director to join its growing team. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced professional with strong technical expertise within the data centre sector and a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions, managing client relationships, supporting business growth, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the electrical engineering function within a multidisciplinary environment
* Deliver technically challenging projects across the data centre sector
* Provide technical leadership, design oversight, and contract management support
* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Support business development activities, including winning new work and negotiating contracts
* Drive team performance, development, and engagement through effective leadership and mentoring
* Oversee recruitment, appraisals, training, and career development initiatives
* Ensure projects are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards
* Monitor financial performance, profitability, and resource planning
* Promote collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across teams
* Foster a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with company values
Requirements
* Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional accreditation
* Extensive experience within the building services consultancy sector
* Strong technical background delivering mission critical and/or data centre projects
* Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams
* Demonstrable commercial awareness and project financial management experience
* Ability to manage complex technical and operational challenges
* Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
* Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
Desirable Experience
* Experience delivering large-scale international or mission critical projects
