Overview
The post holder will be working in an integrated multi professional inpatient team providing quality care for a group of patients, specialising in rehabilitation and sub-acute care from patients stepping down from acute hospitals and step up patients from the community in a physical health inpatient unit.
As the focus of the centres is rehabilitation you will be working in an integrated multi-disciplinary team that includes senior nurses, staff nurses, HCAs, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical staff, discharge coordinator and wider external colleagues.
The services will provide a unique opportunity to work with a dedicated team to deliver vital inpatient care for patients in Northamptonshire.
Main duties of the job
We want to create an effective and high performing team and so we are looking for somebody who is a proactive and dedicated team member, open to new ideas and committed to delivering high quality patient care.
As a Physiotherapist you'll
* assess the healthcare needs of patients and develop treatment plans reflecting their needs
* work closely with patients and MDT to set goals to progress patients towards discharge
* assist the senior therapy staff in managing a cohort of patients and developing individualised therapeutic programmes
* supervise and delegate to support staff
* be open to new ways of working in the centre and developing strong links with other services and the wider community
* you\'ll need to be well organised, confident and able to be adaptable and resourceful to deliver high quality patient care.
* leadership and management skills are also important, as with all healthcare professional roles, communication skills, problem-solving and good clinical judgement are crucial.
* be an integral part of the team but be able to work flexibly with minimum supervision, with the ability to prioritise work based on the patient need.
* must have IT skills
