Housing Sustainment AdvisorLOCATION: PlymouthDURATION:PermanentSALARY: £25,861.56 - £27,120.13HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm) About the Role We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Housing Sustainment Advisor to deliver a high-quality Intensive Housing Management (IHM) service across Plymouth. This is a community-based role where you will work closely with Housing Officers and support teams to help individuals sustain their tenancies, live independently, and progress toward long-term housing goals. You'll take a person-centred, strengths-based approach, supporting customers with practical housing advice while addressing underlying challenges.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular home visits to review customer progress and agree support plansSupport customers to maintain safe, clean, and well-managed accommodationProvide guidance on property upkeep and use of household appliancesAssist with budgeting, income maximisation, and accessing grants/charitiesSupport housing-related processes including benefit evidence and housing applicationsLiaise with contractors and attend appointments for property accessReport and follow up on repairs and maintenance issuesFacilitate house meetings to encourage engagement and shared responsibilityComplete risk and needs assessments, working alongside external agenciesIdentify safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referralsMaintain accurate case records and contribute to service reviewsBuild strong relationships with internal teams and external partnersAbout YouWe are looking for someone who is:An excellent communicator, able to engage with a wide range of peopleHighly organised with strong time management skillsAble to work independently and manage a varied workloadCalm and professional under pressureProactive, solution-focused, and self-motivatedEmotionally intelligent with strong interpersonal skillsExperienced in a customer-facing roleDesirable:Knowledge of housing legislation and regulationsExperience working within housing, support, or community servicesRequirementsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleAbility to work flexibly across the Plymouth areaWhat We're Looking For You'll bring resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting people.
